Say the soul is like fire: existence within
us flickers and moves constantly uncaptur-
able. Say the speed of successive impulses is
six-per-second. Comes along a singer with a
fine vibrato. The pulses are quick and subtle
(sometimes mercerated, heaven-sent). They
are the minute variations of pitch in the pro-
duction of tone (we waverers, straddlers of
Truth). Now, if their rapidity were, say,
twenty-per-second, could they not remind
us of the inner flickering Life force, stirred
and directed toward our essence? It is the
sharing.
