Art Garfunkel, Scarborough Fair (live), Napa, CA, May 12, 2019 (4K)

Art Garfunkel plays "Scarborough Fair" live in concert at the Uptown Theatre in Napa, California on May 12, 2019. The song is a traditional English ballad that was reworked by Simon and Garfunkel and appeared on their Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme album in 1966. Mr. Garfunkel notes that he's learned to appreciate this song as one about loss, and dedicates it to Laurie Bird, his girlfriend of 5 years who committed suicide in 1979. Joining him onstage are Tab Laven (guitar) and Paul Beard (keyboard). Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme Remember me to one who lives there She once was a true love of mine Tell her to make me a cambric shirt (On the side of a hill in the deep forest green) Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme (Tracing of sparrow on snowcrested ground) Without no seams nor needle work (Blankets and bedclothes the child of the mountain) Then she'll be a true love of mine (Sleeps unaware of the clarion call) Tell her to find me an acre of land (On the side of a hill a sprinkling of leaves) Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme (Washes the grave with silvery tears) Between the salt water and the sea strands (A soldier cleans and polishes a gun) Then she'll be a true love of mine Tell her to reap it with a sickle of leather (War bellows blazing in scarlet battalions) Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme (Generals order their soldiers to kill) And gather it all in a bunch of heather (And to fight for a cause they've long ago forgotten) Then she'll be a true love of mine Are you going to Scarborough Fair Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme Remember me to one who lives there She once was a true love of mine Typo catcher: Art Garfunkle, Uptown Theater, Upton Theatre, Scarboro Fair, Scarbrough Fair, Scarbro Fair, Scarborough Faire

Art Garfunkel - The Sound of Silence [Art's vocals only]

This is a 'vocals only' version of "The Sound of Silence", highlighting the beautiful voice of Art Garfunkel of Simon & Garfunkel. Apologies to Paul Simon, the brilliant musician and writer of this song, for leaving him out of this version. This is the isolated vocal from the studio recording matched to the live concert footage. This is a special showcase featuring some great vocalists, giving us a glimpse into the recording and even the effects that were used on the voices (which normally get lost in the mix). No effects were added to these and any instruments you do hear are all from the original recordings. Headphone listening encouraged. Art Garfunkel - Lena (audio)

https://www.facebook.com/simonandgarfunkelnews/ On the album 'The Singer' Composer: Randy Sharp "I had the pleasure of producing the two new songs on Art Garfunkel's upcoming double CD "The Singer." It's a must-have retrospective of choice Simon and Garfunkel and solo Art G songs through the years. "Long Way Home," a song of mine and "Lena," a song written by my father, Randy Sharp are the collection's only two new works. Russ Kunkel, Leland Sklar, Dean Parks, Linda Taylor, Vanessa Freebairn-Smith, Matt Rollings, Leah Kunkel and engineer, Ryan Freeland all contributed to the Grade A recording experience and downwright good hang." Maia Sharp http://www.maiasharp.com/news.php Original painting: 'Le Printemps' by Pierre Auguste Cot. Lyrics: Lena's been burning both ends of her candle. She's over her head in complication and scandal. But Lena takes her troubles in stride. As she runs to the bottle, To confess and confide, Lena surrenders. Lena has taken to flaunting her passions Offers herself in the boldest of fashion But Lena says it's under control As she looks to the bottle, To calm and console, Lena surrenders Lena, Surely you don't believe, By hiding in bottles you'll never relieve All the pain love has brought you The fire and the cold. Lena, Take heart, Take heart. Lena, Surely you don't believe, By hiding in bottles you'll never relieve All the pain love has brought you... The fire and the cold. Lena, Take heart. Take heart. Take heart. Take heart. Lena! Lena! Take heart. Lena! Lena...
